The Department of Economics is a research-oriented Department at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, a new public university in Seville.
The Faculty consists mainly of young researchers who have obtained their Ph. D.s in some of the best Doctoral Programs, both in Spain and abroad.
Research fields are quite varied, and cover many areas of modern economic analysis, such as environmental economics, game theory, social choice and welfare economics, political economy, health economics, growth theory, applied economics, applied general equilibrium models, international economics, economic history, econometrics, labour economics, or micro-econometrics.
The Department aims at consolidating a human team capable of sustaining the highest quality standards both in teaching and research. We make our best to promote research activities by providing a suitable environment and all kind of facilities to our researchers. We also take most seriously our teaching duties. Indeed, both teaching and research are taken into account for the regular evaluation of the staff.
Please take a look at the report of our research activities during the years 2005-06: [Research Report (in Spanish)]
