English table
A reminder that this Wednesday (Oct. 22) is the English table at the cafeteria in the Plaza de America from 3-4pm.  All are welcome and as this one will be in English, students who wish to meet Spaniards and speak to them in English are especially welcome to attend.  We had a turnout of about 60 students at our first Spanish table. 
Os recordamos que el próximo jueves, 22 de octubre, tenemos una Mesa Inglesa en la Plaza de América de 3-4pm. Esta mesa será en inglés así que es recomendable para aquellos estudiantes que quieran conocer estudiantes españoles y hablar con ellos en inglés (aunque está abierta para todos los alumnos). En la primera Mesa Española que organizamos hace algunas semanas asistieron unos 60 estudiantes!

U.S. Elections Debate
A reminder that the elections debate will take place on Thursday, October 23, in building 16,  classroom (aula) 1 from 3-4pm.  We urge all interested in U.S. politics to attend and participate!
Os recordamos que el debate de las Elecciones será el jueves, 23 de octubre, de 3-4pm en el Edificio 16 Aula 1. Animamos a todos los estudiantes que les interese la política americana participen en el debate!

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE
The final exam schedule has been posted on the bulletin board outside of our office (building 14, ground floor).  Please be sure to check the schedule before finalizing your return flight in December.  Final exam dates cannot be changed unless you have 4 or more on the same day.  The last final exam ends at 6:00pm on Thursday, Dec. 18th.
El Calendario de los exámenes finales está colgado en el tablón de anuncios fuera de nuestra oficina (Edificio 14, planta baja). Por favor, aseguraos de comprobar la fecha exacta de vuestros exámenes antes de cerrar vuestro viaje de vuelta en diciembre. Las fechas de los exámenes no se pueden cambiar a menos que tengas 4 o más exámenes en el mismo día. El último examen finalizará el jueves, 18 de diciembre, a las 6pm.

TIME CHANGE
On Sunday morning, October 26, please be sure to change your clocks back one hour and enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
No os olvidéis de adelantar el reloj 1 hora el próximo domingo, 26 de octubre! A las 8 de la mañana serán las 7am así que disfrutad de 1 hora extra de sueño!

TRIP TO ESTEPA AND OSUNA
Please be sure to sign up for the trip to Osuna and Estepa which will take place on Friday, October 31st.  The deadline to sign up is Tuesday afternoon, October 28th. 
El martes es el último día para apuntarse para la excursión de Osuna y Estepa que será el próximo viernes, 31 de octubre

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
The last day to withdraw from a class is Monday, October 27th.   
El próximo lunes, 27 de octubre,  es el último día para dejar una clase.

HIKING TRIP TO GRAZALEMA
On Saturday, October 25, SDUPO is organizing a hiking trip to the Sierra de Grazalema.  The bus will leave the campus at 8:30am and return to campus around 18:30.  The hike itself will take approximately 3 hours and is labelled “dificultad baja” (low level of difficulty).  For more information and to sign up, please stop by the Sports Department as soon as possible as spaces fill up quickly.  To participate, students must have a sports ID card.  According to information we have received from SDUPO, it is free of charge.  Students need only to bring a bagged lunch, water and comfortable walking shoes.
El Servicio de Deporte, SDUPO, ha organizado para el próximo sábado, 25 de octubre, una excursión  a la Sierra de Grazalema. El bus saldrá del campus a las 8.30am y volverá sobre las 18.30 (al campus). La excursión está considerada de “dificultad baja” y tiene una duración de 3 horas. Las inscripciones se harán en SDUPO así que os recomendamos que si os interesa vayáis lo antes posible. Según la información que nos ha dado el personal de SDUPO, la excursión es gratuita y sólo tenéis que llevar vuestra comida, agua y calzado cómodo.

VOLUNTEERING
For those of you staying at UPO for the whole academic year and interested in doing some volunteer work, we urge you to attend the roundtable discussions on October 21 about available programs.  They will be held in the Sala de Grados, building 7.  There will also be information stands in the main passageway of the University on October 22nd.  For more information, please stop by the Volunteer office:
