Chess
If you´re interested in playing chess, a professor from the business department, Eugenio Fedriani, offers classes in chess and organizes tournaments. Si te apetece jugar al ajedrez, un profesor del departamento de Empresariales, Eugenio Fedriani, ofrece clases y organiza torneos. Las clases son gratuitas, sólo necesitáis la tarjeta deportiva que se recoge en SDUPO (el Centro de Estudios paga esta tarjeta a todos los estudiantes).

U.S. Elections Debate
A few students stopped by asking about forming a chorus. Gym
The sports department has just announced that the gym will open on Monday, September 15th. The opening times of the gym are as following: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 10pm and Fridays from 8:30am - 9pm.
To join the gym, stop by the Sports department (SDUPO - building 14, ground floor).
HayEl servicio de deportes (SDUPO) ha anunciado que el gimnasio abrirá el lunes, 15 de septiembre. El horario será el siguiente: lunes-jueves 8.30-22.00 y viernes de 8.30-21.00. Para apuntaros en el gimnasio debéis ir a SDUPO (Edificio 14, planta baja).

Carmona
Areminder to sign up for the trip to the town of Carmona on Friday, September 19. Although it is required for the History of Spanish Art and History of Spain classes, you will still need to sign up so we can reserve the correct number of buses.
Os r ecordamos que debéis apuntaros en la oficina para la excursión a Carmona el 19 de septiembre. Aunque para algunos alumnos sea una excursión obligatoria (History of Spanish Art and History of Spain classes), debéis apuntaros también en la oficina.

¿Drop and Add?
A reminder that the drop & add period ends on Friday, September 19th . Be sure to get your change slips in to the Center by then.

Classroom changes, class cancellation and a new class
- A 3rd section of the *SPAN 206 Spanish Conversation *class* *has been added on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:50am in building 16, seminar 2. It will be taught by Estrella Fernández.
Hay un nuevo curso de *SPAN 206 Conversación en español *los martes y jueves de 10.30-11.50 en el Edificio 16 Seminario 2. La profesora será Estrella Fernández.

- The *SPAN 101* course on Tues & Thurs from 10:30-11:50 has been *cancelled* due to extremely low enrolment. Anyone who needs an elementary course is encouraged to go to the SPAN 101-102 course which meets daily at 9:00-10:20 or to the *SPAN 102* course (if your recommended level is SPAN 102) which will now meet on Tuesday and Thursdays from *10:30-11:50* (building 11 Seminar 1).
Se ha cancelado el curso de SPAN 101 ya que no hab ía suficientes estudiantes matriculados. Los estudiantes que tengan un nivel elemental pueden coger el curso SPAN 101-102, que se da todos los días de 9.00-10.20, o el curso SPAN 102 (si vuestro nivel recomendado es SPAN 102) que a partir de la semana que viene será los martes y jueves de 10.30-11.50 en el Edificio 11 Seminario 1.

Conversation groups
On the week starting Monday, Sept. 22, several conversation groups will be offered by students of the Masters program. The classes will be for students at the intermediate and advanced levels and will run for 10 weeks (1 hour once a week). Extra credit will be offered by the Spanish language teachers to those students who attend 80% of the classes. Stop by our office (building 14, ground floor) starting on Wednesday morning to sign up.. 
A partir del lunes 22 de septiembre, se ofrecerán varias clases de conversación impartidas por alumnos del Master. Las clases estarán dirigidas a estudiantes con un nivel intermedio o avanzado y tendrán una duración de 10 semanas (1 hora a la semana). Los alumnos que asistan al menos a un 80% de las clases obtendrán puntos extra en la nota final de su clase de español. Si te interesa participar, puedes apuntarte en nuestra oficina a partir del miércoles.
