Established in 1997, the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville is one of the youngest public universities in Spain, however it has successfully fulfilled the first stage of development and now with both effort and vision looks towards a second phase of consolidation and expansion. In my role as Rector of this institution, I want to extend my sincerest welcome to our home, that you can visit and learn about through this web page.

The university is fully committed to improving the society in all aspects. It is for this that support for this institution extends beyond its boundaries of established networks of contacts with other European universities and strong connections in Latin America, in addition our new expansion to North Africa, North America and Asia, all of which contribute to a privileged position for students, teachers and staff.

It is the quest for excellence from research and teaching staff that helps fulfill the objectives of the university. It is our ambition to excel at post graduate courses (at the moment we are the second university in Spain in terms of doctorates awarded with distinction in quality). As for teaching we have five functioning departments (environmental sciences, social work, economic sciences, humanities and law); some of these departments offer tandem studies.

In the development of this task it will show that our young university is endowed with and known for providing the most modern equipment available to research and reporting teams: extensive use of information technology and electronics on our extensive campus (140ha), teaching in other languages, modern services required for the university community, extensive variety of sporting facilities, contacts in business and professional fields etc
