Law and Business Management and Administration

The Universidad Pablo de Olavide is the first university in the region to offer a high quality double degree in Law + Business Management and Administration at public prices that counts with great national and international academic recognition.

SYLLABUS:
In order to obtain simultaneously the degree in Law and the degree in Business Management and Administration students must complete five presence-based academic years plus a semester during which students will complete an external internship and the final project. During this last semester the student presence in campus will not be required. The length of the new double degrees has been shortened in comparison with current joint studies, which last six and a half years. The total number of credits students must complete to obtain both degrees simultaneously (390) is also considerably less than the number of credits required separately (240 credits each). This is possible thanks to the new European academic framework, which the UPO has being implementing since 2003 through its Pilot Programme of Adaptation to the EHEA. For this purpose the Double Degree in Law + Business Management and Administration is based on a reliable and modern curriculum that guarantees the acquisition of all the skills developed in both degrees simultaneously.

Students must complete 54 core credits and 126 compulsory credits from each degree. In addition they will complete 30 credits shared by both degrees corresponding to the external internship and the final project. The average number of credits to be completed each year is 72, scarcely higher than the average of 60 credits for individual degrees. The total number of credits is distributed in courses of six credits that last each a semester. The optimum chronological distribution of courses ensures the best preparation for students.

Upon completing the double degree, graduates will have acquired all the skills corresponding to each degree. Therefore, they will become legal experts by receiving a prestigious and reliable education, and they will also be able to start and manage responsibly different types of organisations, holding a general management position or running any functional area (hence contributing to enhance the organisation’s competitiveness and sustainability). All this allows graduates to enter the Spanish and the international labour market as professionals in any of the careers accessible to graduates in Business Management and Administration or in Law.
