The Ministry is in charge of outlining and implementing government policies against global change and towards the preservation of environmental heritage, biodiversity and sea, water, agricultural, fishing and alimentary resources.
All government policies relevant to the natural environment, in its twofold expression – the protection of the territory and biodiversity, and the promotion and defence of agricultural, fishing, forest and alimentary productive resources – are thus unified in a single body with a comprehensive approach towards the protection of the environment and the generation of wealth in rural environments.
