In order to realise the project’s vision, CamBio has the following lateral Strategic Targets (ST):
ST1. Internationalisation
With the ultimate aim of improving the project’s visibility and international recognition, CEI CamBio is creating an innovation ecosystem and a competitive environment capable of attracting talent and resources from all over the world, while actively engaging in scientific-academic cooperation with other regions.
ST2. Policy towards excellence
CamBio is supported by the excellence of the project’s academic offer and research and innovation activity, according to international assessment standards. Excellence in environment-building and management are equally important. For this, the Consortium CEI has a flexible structure and has been endowed with the necessary powers to ensure an autonomous operation.
ST3. Concentration of talent
CEI CamBio is intended to create, attract, and preserve the most talented students, lecturers and researchers at the national and international levels. The achievement of the targets regarding internationalisation, excellence and capture of resources will very much depend on the success of this policy for the attraction and remuneration of junior and senior talent.
ST4. Employability and employment
CamBio is committed to improving the professional expectations of alumni with the promotion of an entrepreneurial, creative and innovative culture. Additionally, the CEI aims at reinforcing knowledge transference, the creation of technology-based firms and the creation of innovation-related jobs. CamBio’s areas of specialisation are inextricably linked with the ‘green economy’, which is expected to grow spectacularly in the current decade, according to the EU.
ST5. Capture of resources
Given the currently operating austerity principles and economic situation, CamBio aims at: i) mobilising and coordinating the coalition’s own resources to move towards the achievement of the project’s targets in a coordinated and unified manner; ii) capturing additional funds in international competitive calls; iii) reinforcing public-private cooperation policies; and, iv) also reinforcing sponsorship initiatives.
These five Strategic Targets unfold in the nineteen Lines (L) and fifty nine Actions (A) which articulate CEI CamBio’s Strategic Plan 2012-2016, which will be presented in the following paragraphs and which concentrates on three main areas: improved teaching and adaptation to the ESHE, improved research and transference of knowledge, and transformation of the campus.
