Her PhD is from the University Autonomous of Madrid, Spain (1992). In addition to her teaching and research activities, she collaborates as ad hoc reviewer for some finance and management journals. She is, and has been, Main Research of some projects of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and of the Junta de Andalucía. She has been visiting professor at Rochester University, USA (February 1994 to September 1994), Udine University Italy (April, 1999), Reading University, UK (June-August, 2009) and  Kingston University, UK (June-July 2010), among others universities from Latin America, as Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Mendoza and Universidad del Litoral, Santa Fe (Argentina). She has published over than 20 academic research articles in journals such as International Small Business Journal, Scandinavian Journal of Management, The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance, International Review of Economics and Finance; Journal of Banking and Finance, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, Journal of Economic of Public Reform, Regional Studies, Applied of Economics, among others. Currently Clara has four periods of research evaluated positively.

Experiencia profesional

She worked for an Argentine financial institution (Banco FEIGIN S.A.) from January 1978 to January 1982. She was member of the Board of a Loan Guarantee Society in Andalucia, (SURAVAL SGR), from June 2016 to July 2017, Spain.
