The headquarters of Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Carmona – Rosario Valpuesta Chancellor is, today, an academic institution benchmark for organizing summer courses and university extension activities. This institution was founded in 2003 by the momentum and interest of the two main institutions involved in its development: the Pablo de Olavide University and the Carmona City Council.

On the one hand, this initiative responds to the institutional will of the Pablo de Olavide University of open university borders into other spaces where the guidelines, lines of expansion and collaboration established by the university can develop in its own way in the local level, using the city of Carmona, its rich historical and cultural heritage and its infrastructures.

On the other hand, the City of Carmona considers this university project as strategic when it comes to enhance the cultural growth and intrinsic actions derived thereof from the village.

For the development of Carmona as a university city, the headquarters hosts throughout the year conducting activities of scientific, technical, cultural, social, etc. such as summer courses, postgraduates, conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, conventions, master’s degrees, etc. Furthermore, it is committed to the development of projects related to historic preservation, education, youth, environment, tourism… among other things.

To this end, it has a university campus, el Palacio de los Briones, located in the historic center of the town, which meets all the requirements necessary for the full development of the activities. History and modernity, heritage and technology are mixed singularly and uniformly to cover Olavide in Carmona headquarters, that intends to become a reference for training, development and university cooperation with the society of its time.
