He holds a degree in History from the University of Granada and has completed the Master of Formación del Profesorado (UGR), the master EURAME (UGR), and Historia Moderna: «Monarquía de España, siglos XVI-XVIII» (UC-UAM-USC). He is a predoctoral FPI researcher in the Departamento de Historia Moderna at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

His research focuses on the study of urban militias in the Viceroyalty of New Spain during the second half of the seventeenth century and the early eighteenth century, as well as on American defense projects and the transatlantic commercial networks linked to members of the Mexico City Consulado de Comerciantes.
