Doctor en Historia Econ\u00f3mica por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2017), Beno\u00eet Mar\u00e9chaux fue Max Weber fellow<\/em> en el European University Institute<\/em> de Florencia en 2018-2019. Se licenci\u00f3 en Historia en la Universit\u00e9 Paris-IV Sorbonne, obtuvo un M\u00e1ster en Historia europea en el \u00c9cole Pratique des Hautes \u00c9tudes de Par\u00eds, y complet\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n tanto en la Universidad Ca\u2019 Foscari de Venecia como en la Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla. Fue visiting scholar<\/em> en la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi de G\u00e9nova y en el \u00c9cole fran\u00e7aise de Rome. Entre 2019 y 2021 ha trabajado como investigador postdoctoral en el proyecto ERC PerformArt (CNRS-\u00c9cole fran\u00e7aise de Rome) y en la Universit\u00e0 degli Studi de Padua. Desde marzo de 2021 es Profesor Ayudante Doctor en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. En la actualidad, es tambi\u00e9n vice-secretario de la revista Cuadernos de Historia Moderna.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

Sus investigaciones versan sobre la Historia econ\u00f3mica del mundo mediterr\u00e1neo a lo largo de los siglos XVI y XVII, concretamente sobre el negocio de la guerra en los mundos hisp\u00e1nico e italiano. En su tesis doctoral, desarroll\u00f3 su investigaci\u00f3n sobre los asentistas genoveses que gestionaron galeras por cuenta de la Monarqu\u00eda Hisp\u00e1nica entre 1528 y 1650. Tambi\u00e9n se interesa por la Historia de las finanzas y de las redes de cr\u00e9dito en Italia y en el mundo hisp\u00e1nico, as\u00ed como por la Historia del trabajo forzado en el mediterr\u00e1neo.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

En estos \u00faltimos a\u00f1os ha publicado algunos de los resultados de su investigaci\u00f3n en varias revistas como Hispania<\/em>, Business History<\/em>, Journal of Global Slavery <\/em>o Dix-Septi\u00e8me Si\u00e8cle<\/em>. Desde 2021, es IP del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n HISFIMED \u201cLa Monarqu\u00eda Hisp\u00e1nica, la circulaci\u00f3n de los metales preciosos y la globalizaci\u00f3n financiera en el Mediterr\u00e1neo (1568-1798)\u201d [HISFIMED] financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
