This event marks the launch of the UNTWIST Policy Recommendation Handbook, presenting new research on how economic inequalities generate gendered consequences for European democracy. Moving beyond the idea of anti-gender politics as a mere “culture war”, the findings highlight the role of material insecurity and structural inequalities in shaping political grievances across Europe. The project provides cross-national evidence and concrete EU policy recommendations, offering actionable strategies to strengthen democratic responsiveness and address gendered inequalities.
