Antonia Mar\u00eda Ruiz Jim\u00e9nez<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Antonia Mar\u00eda Ruiz Jim\u00e9nez<\/em> (M\u00e1laga, 1971) obtained her Ph D. in Political Science and Administration from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid<\/em> in 2002. She is an Associate Professor in Sociology at Pablo de Olavide University <\/em>(Spain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research interests include nationalism and national identity (demographic nationalism and welfare nationalism particularly), radical and extreme right populist parties, anti-gender discourses, and political behaviour. She leads the research group DEMOSPAIN-SEJ 598 within the Andalusian System of Scientific Knowledge Management and is also the Scientific Coordinator of the Horizon Europe RIA project UNTWIST-101060836. She is also the IP of the projects PRY040\/22, financed by FCEA and UPO-1381076, funded by FEDER ANDALUCIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonia Ruiz has most recently published in Pol\u00edtica y Sociedad (2022), Acta Pol\u00edtica (2021), National Identities (2021), Revista de Estudios Pol\u00edticos (2020) or REIS (2020), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manuel Jim\u00e9nez-S\u00e1nchez<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Manuel Jim\u00e9nez-S\u00e1nchez is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla, Spain. He holds a PhD in political science (Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid) and is a member of the Juan March Institute (Madrid). Previously, he has been a lecturer at the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Carlos III University of Madrid, a researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and a Regional Visiting Fellow at the Center of International Studies at Cornell University. His research focuses, broadly speaking, on the study of political participation and social movements, having participated in several national and European research projects on these topics. He has published the books El impacto pol\u00edtico de los movimientos sociales. Un estudio de la protesta ambiental en Espa\u00f1a (2005, Madrid: CIS) and La normalizaci\u00f3n de la protesta: el caso de las manifestaciones en Espa\u00f1a (2011, Madrid, CIS). Manuel T. Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Manuel T. Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez (1966) holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid (1990), and a PhD in Political Science and Sociology from the UNED, having received the extraordinary doctorate award from that University in 2000. Associate Professor of Sociology since 2002, he has carried out his teaching and research work at the Complutense University, as research staff between 1991 and 1994, at the University of Vigo – between 1995 and 2006 – and since that year at the Pablo de Olavide University (UPO), where he is currently a lecturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His areas of specialisation are: rural sociology; development, territory and environment; territorial and national identities; gender; sociology of sport. He is a specialist in qualitative research. He has published several books and articles on these subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was president of the Rural Sociology Research Committee of the Spanish Federation of Sociology between 2004 and 2009. He has been Deputy Director of the Department of Social Sciences at the University Pablo de Olavide between 2010 and 2013 and Coordinator of the Master in Socio-Political Studies at the UPO. He is currently Secretary of the Department of Sociology at the UPO. He has directed and participated in numerous research projects in his fields of specialisation, both at regional, Spanish (National R&D Plan) and international level. He has supervised five doctoral theses, all of them with the highest marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Member of the Research and Study Group Southern and Mediterranean Europe of the European Society for Rural Sociology and promoter of the UPO – UNAM collaboration agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis Navarro Ardoy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor and Head of Area in Sociology Department at Pablo de Olavide University. He has teached subjects related to methodology and data analysis. One of his hallmarks as researcher and educator is the design and implementation of innovative actions aimed at the dissemination of sociology and social knowledge, some funded by scientific associations, such as audiovisual products, talks and lectures in bars, bookshops and cultural centres. He has published 80 opinion articles in different newspapers, printed and online media publishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2015, he presides the Practical Sociological Research Committee in the Spanish Sociology Federation. He is member of the Research Group “DEMOSPAIN”, Democracy, Territories and Identities (SEJ-598, integrated in the Andalusian Knowledge System). He has participated in 16 research projects or contracts I+D+i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has carried out three stays as visiting Associate Professor in Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and has made two research stays, one at the Centre for Applied Research at the University of Malaga and another in the Institute for Advanced Social Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has made 42 courses aimed to university teacher training and theoretical and methodological specialisation. He has participated in 7 teaching innovation projects for the design and application of new teaching and assessment methodologies, mainly focused on competence training. He has made 100 contributions to congresses, conferences and seminars organised by leading associations in the field of sociology. A total of 21 of them are invited papers or keynote lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pablo Ortiz Barquero<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pablo Ortiz Barquero(1993) obtained his PhD in Social Sciences from Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain). He currently works as an Assistant Professor and is a researcher in the Horizon Europe RIA project \u2018UNTWIST: Policy recommendations to regain feminist losers as mainstream voters\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been visiting researcher at Universidad de Salamanca (Spain, 2019) and Johannes Gutenberg-Universit\u00e4t Mainz (Germany, 2021). He has also been awarded with the \u2018Prize for the best academic trajectory in Political Science\u2019 (Academy of Social Sciences and Environment of Andalusia, 2017) and the \u2018Prize for the best presentation of doctoral students\u2019 (Spanish Association of Political Science, 2021). His interests include political radicalism, party competition, electoral behavior and research methods. His work has been published in international peer reviewed journals as Acta Politica<\/em>, Journal of Political Ideologies<\/em>, Revista de Ciencia Pol\u00edtica<\/em> or Revista de Estudios Pol\u00edticos<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alba Mar\u00eda Arag\u00f3n Morales<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alba Mar\u00eda Arag\u00f3n Morales is a Graduate of Sociology and Political and Administration Sciences (2020) and a Master\u2019s degree in Gender and Equality from the Pablo de Olavide University (2021). She is working on her doctoral thesis at the Department of Sociology of the Pablo de Olavide University with an FPU pre-doctoral contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has received recognition as the second-best graduate in Spain in Sociology (2021) by the Spanish Society of Academic Excellence. Likewise, she has been awarded the 2020 Youth Award for Scientific Culture in the Human and Social Sciences modality by the Seville City Council and the CSIC. Recently, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship (2023) to carry out a pre-doctoral research stay at the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies of the University of New York (USA). He is currently a work-team member of the national research project “CS-TRANSCRIBE: needs research and development of a digital transcription tool for the Social Sciences” (Digital Transition call of the Ministry of Innovation 2021) and of the European project “UNTWIST: policy recommendations to regain feminist losers” (HORIZON 2020 call). Her pre-doctoral research analyzes the media and political construction of the demographic problem in a nationalist key and its gender consequences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Romero Portillo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Romero Portillo holds a BA in Sociology and a BA in Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Pablo de Olavide, and a MA in Current Democracies: Nationalism, Federalism and Multiculturality<\/em> from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He is currently works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla and is part of the Horizon Europe RIA project \u201cUNTWIST: Policy recommendations to regain feminist losers as mainstream voters\u201d<\/em>.

PhD candidate in Social Sciences and Substitute Teaching Tutor at the Sociology Deparment at Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla. He has previously worked as research assistant within Simetrica project (research group DEMOSPAIN-SEJ), junior consultant at an international consultancy firm and fellowship at Centro de Investigaciones Sociol\u00f3gicas. Nieves Aquino Llinares<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nieves Aquino Llinares, PhD in Statistics from the University of Ja\u00e9n, Graduate in Research and Market Techniques and Diploma in Statistics from the University of Seville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2001, I have been a full-time professor at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. My lines of research focus on the application of multivariate statistical methods in the area of social sciences: political analysis, occupational risk prevention, biomedical behavior studies, asthma, physical activity and sports, among others. I am responsible for the statistical function, sample design and data analysis in the research projects of the asthma education and health research group, GESA (http:\/\/grupo.us.es\/asmaydeporte\/index.php\/es\/asma- y-deporte<\/a>) , of which I am part as a researcher. I am also part of the SIM\u00c9TRICA research group (https:\/\/www.upo.es\/investiga\/simetrica\/<\/a>) coordinating and performing statistical analysis. From January 2016 to June 15, 2020 I am co-responsible for the Statistics and IO area of the Department of Economics, Quantitative M. and Economic History at the Pablo de Olavide University. Since 2007 I have been part of the Multidisciplinary Statistical and Demoscopic Studies research group, funded by the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda, being since 2015 its main researcher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jose M. Echavarren<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jose M. Echavarren is PhD in Sociology by the Public University of Navarre (Spain). His doctoral thesis has been awarded by the Spanish Association of Sociologist and Political Scientists (2007). He worked as a researcher at the Centre for Andalusian Studies (2006). He is currently working as a tenured lecturer at the University of Pablo Olavide (Spain) where he teaches Environmental Sociology, Sociological Theory and Methods and techniques for social research. He has been Visiting Associate at the University of York (2014). His research interests focus on Environmental Sociology and Collective Identities. Some of his last publications are in Safety Science<\/em>, Society & Natural Resources<\/em>, or Nations and Nationalism<\/em> (awarded by the Andalusian Association of Sociology). He is board member of the Environmental Sociology Research Committee of both, the European Sociological Association (2019-) as well as of the Spanish Sociological Association (2020-).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ana Lara Merch\u00e1n is a Graduate of Sociology (2018) and a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Training (2022) from Pablo de Olavide University. She is working on her doctoral thesis in Social Sciences and Substitute Teaching Tutor at the Sociology Deparment at Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has previously worked as a research assistant within the SOLAS Project (research group DEMOSPAIN SEJ-598) and fellowship at the Simetrica project (research group DEMOSPAIN-SEJ-598). Her pre-doctoral research focuses on the feeling of loneliness and social isolation among older adults in long-term care facilities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Rafael Andr\u00e9s Zambrana P\u00e9rez is a Graduate of Sociology and Political Sciences (2023) and holds a Master\u2019s degree in Gender and Equality from the Pablo de Olavide University (2024). He is currently a pre-doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology of the Pablo de Olavide University, holding a FPU pre-doctoral contract (2025-2029). Previously, he was a JAE Intro research fellow at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a work-team member of the research group SEJ-598 DEMOSPAIN (Democracy, Territories and Identities) and the MAPP international research project (Measuring Anti-immigrant sentiment: Prevalence & Predictors). His pre-doctoral research, connected to the Horizon Europe project \u201cUNTWIST: policy recommendations to regain feminist losers as mainstream voters\u201d, analyzes the gendered impact of globalization on voting behavior, with a specific focus on masculinities and radical right-wing parties.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luz Mar\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez Soriano is a Graduate of Sociology from Pablo de Olavide University (2025) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Marketing and Applied Research at the University of Seville. She is a researcher in the Horizon Europe RIA project \u2018UNTWIST: Policy recommendations to regain feminist losers as mainstream voters\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within UNTWIST, her bachelor’s thesis and a research initiation grant examine how Vox voters in Spain construct narratives around gender, and how these discourses vary by social class and gender. She presented this work at the International Sociological Association Congress (2025) and at the 2nd Session of the Permanent Group on Gender and Politics (AECPA, 2025).
