Changes are occurring so fast that species adaptive capacity may be currently overcame. Our research team focus on patterns and process related to forest ecosystems responses to global change. We aim to investigate the current decreasing growth and increasing mortality of several tree species living near their physiological limits. We also attempt to define adaptive management guidelines to mitigate biodiversity loss under rapid climate change, particularly in relict Mediterranean-mountain forests.
