Amelia Almorza Hidalgo is Assistant Professor in the area of Economical History at Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville). She was awarded a degree in Humanities and holds a Ph.D. from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (2011). This work was awarded the Nuestra Am\u00e9rica 2017 award and will be published at the CSIC\/Diputaci\u00f3n de Sevilla, under the title \"No se hace pueblo sin ellas: mujeres espa\u00f1olas en el Virreinato del Per\u00fa: emigraci\u00f3n y movilidad social (siglos XVI-XVII)\", (Madrid, 2018).<\/p>\n
She has been a post-doctoral researcher at the project \u00ab<\/a><\/span>ArtEmpire: conquest<\/span>, <\/span>commerce<\/span>, crisis, culture and <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>Panamaian<\/span> Junction, 1513 – 1617″ (ERC <\/span>CoG<\/span> 648535), , directed by Dr. Bethany Aram, at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville) Her areas of expertise include gender history and migrations in the Early Modern period, as well as analysis on material culture (with a chapter on gender and material culture in the book \u00abAmerican Globalization<\/span>, 1492 – 1850″<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Currently, she participates at the project <\/span>FEDER<\/span> \u00abG\u00e9nero y etnia en el istmo de Panam\u00e1, 1500 – 1700\u00bb<\/a>, directed by Professor Bethany Aram, where she analyses the convent of Encarnaci\u00f3n at the city of Panam\u00e1. In the same way, she is a researcher at the projectEl sudeste asi\u00e1tico bajo la influencia ib\u00e9rica en el mundo, 1581 – 1668″<\/a>directed by Dr. Jos\u00e9 Antonio Mart\u00ednez Torres (UNED), where she studies the navigation and trade circuits at the American Pacific coast.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Correo electr\u00f3nico: aalmhid@upo.es<\/p>\n
