Jo\u00e3o Vicente Melo se gradu\u00f3 en Sociologia por el ISCTE- Instituto Universitario de Lisboa (Portugal). Historia por la Universit\u00e0 di Genova. Obtuvo el Master of Arts (MA) en Historia Cultural en el Goldsmiths, University of London (Reino Unido) y es doctor en Historia (PhD) por la Swansea University (Reino Unido).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Ha sido investigador\u00a0postdoctoral en la\u00a0Universitat\u00a0Pompeu Fabra,\u00a0University\u00a0of\u00a0Liverpool y\u00a0University\u00a0of\u00a0Oxford.\u00a0Es autor de\u00a0la monograf\u00eda\u00a0Jesuit\u00a0and English\u00a0experiences\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0Mughal\u00a0Court, c. 1580-1615<\/em>\u00a0(Palgrave Macmillan, 2022, in print) and one of the co-authors of\u00a0Keywords\u00a0of\u00a0Identity,\u00a0Race, and Human\u00a0Mobility\u00a0in\u00a0Early\u00a0Modern\u00a0England<\/em>\u00a0(Amsterdam University Press, 2021).\u00a0Journal\u00a0of\u00a0Early\u00a0Modern\u00a0History<\/em>, el\u00a0Journal\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Economic\u00a0and Social\u00a0History\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Orient<\/em>the\u00a0Sixteenth\u00a0Century\u00a0Journal<\/em>\u00a0o\u00a0Portuguese\u00a0Studies<\/em>He is also the editor of a forthcoming critical edition of\u00a0The\u00a0Writings\u00a0of\u00a0Antoni de Montserrat at\u00a0the\u00a0Mughal\u00a0Court<\/em>a forthcoming critical edition of Antoni de Montserrat\u2019s writings on Mughal India which will published by Brill between 2022 and 2023. He has published his research findings in edited books and journals such as the Journal of Early Modern History, the Journal of the Economic and Social History of the Orient, the Sixteenth Century Journal or Portuguese Studies.\u202f His current research project, MIBER-Mobility and Integration in the Iberian Colonial Systems, examines the influence of the interpersonal relations and networks developed by Spanish migrants across the Portuguese empire and their role in the interconnection between the two Iberian colonial systems during the years of the Union of Crowns (c. 1580-1640).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
