He was awarded a Ph.D. by the European University Institute in Florence (Italy).  \n\nHe was recently awarded an <strong>ERC (European Research Council)-Starting Grant<\/strong>within the funding program Horizon 2020 of the European Union Funding for Research &amp; Innovation to carry out the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gecem.eu\"> project <em>GECEM (Global Encounters between China and Europe)<\/em><\/a>. He is also the founder and director of <em>Global History Network en China (GHN)<\/em>,the first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalhistorynetwork.com\">Global History academic network established in China.<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He was a Marie Curie Research Fellow at UCBerkeley, International Institute for Asian Studies (Leiden University), a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of History at Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) in 2011 and Visiting Professor at the UNAM (Mexico), University of Tokyo (Japan) and University of Macerata (Italy).<\/p>\n<p>Some of his latest publications include <em>Vicarious Consumers: Transnational Meetings between the West and East (1730-1808)<\/em> (Routledge, 2013); <em>China and Latin America in Transition Policy Dynamics, Economic Commitments, and Social Impacts<\/em> (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2016); <em>Global History and New Polycentric Approaches: Europe, Asia and the Americas in a World Network System<\/em>co-edited with Lucio de Sousa (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2017).
