{"id":1392,"date":"2021-06-09T10:40:01","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T10:40:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.upo.es\/investiga\/globalhistory\/?p=1392"},"modified":"2021-06-09T11:05:59","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T11:05:59","slug":"finalizada-la-actualizacion-de-la-global-history-network-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.upo.es\/investiga\/globalhistory\/en\/finalizada-la-actualizacion-de-la-global-history-network-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Global History Network in China update completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The academic research network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalhistorynetwork.com\/\">Global History in China <\/a>whose main mission is to reflect on the influence of global history on new historiographical studies, has received new updates, including the incorporation of Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upo.es\/investiga\/globalhistory\/en\/miembros\/igor-perez-tostado\/\">Igor P\u00e9rez Tostado<\/a>, a member of the PAI-HUM 1000 research group, to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalhistorynetwork.com\/committees\/international-committee.html\">network's International Committee. <\/a>Thus, the group of international researchers that make up the different committees of the network, which brings together mainly European, American, and Asian scholars, has been enlarged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This space for reflection, directed by the researcher Manuel P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda, focuses on analyzing global society, considering the first transcontinental encounters since the Silk Road was inaugurated, connecting East and West, during the period of imperial expansion by Alexander the Great towards Central Asia, Marco Polo's voyages to China during the 13th century or the Conquest of America by Christopher Columbus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the words of its Steering Committee, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalhistorynetwork.com\/mission.html\">main advance of this network<\/a> is the active review of economic and socio-cultural transfers between the territories of East and West, which takes place when goods, people, and knowledge circulate transcontinentally.
