Braun studied at the universities of Heidelberg and Oxford.  \n\nSince 2004 he is a Professor at the University of Liverpool, where, apart from this project, works in the group \u201cRethinking the Iberian Atlantic\u201d.  \n\nHis research topics focus on Early Modern political culture, with a major interest in the integration of political and intellectual history, theological-political discourse, and the Hispanic Monarchy.  \n\nOne of his major contributions has focused on the political thought of Juan de Mariana.  \n\nHis most recent book develops a theoretical approach for the study of the Iberian Atlantic<em>Theorising the Ibero-American Atlantic<\/em>, Brill, 2013)<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liverpool.academia.edu\/HaraldErnstBraun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Profile in Academia.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liv.ac.uk\/history\/staff\/harald-braun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Personal website<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harald E.
