
Dr. Inmaculada Mendoza García received her Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from University of Granada (UGR) and her PhD degree in English Philology in 2014 from University of Seville (US). In 2005, she began working as a part-time Teaching Fellow in the Department of Languages and Translation at Pablo de Olavide University (UPO). Is in this university where she combined her work as a teacher with professional translation. Since October 2015, she has been a permanent Lecturer in the aforementioned Department.
She had been a co-owner of the translation and interpreting agency Poliglot and the owner of the school of languages and translation and interpreting services Lingualand before her teaching and research work at Pablo de Olavide University began. She also worked as a teacher and associate coordinator in the Department of Applied Linguistics: Translation and Interpreting at the University Centre CEADE, affiliated to the University of Wales, known today as University Centre San Isidoro from Seville and affiliated to the Pablo de Olavide University.
For ten years, she was a member of the research group HUM-631: Teoría, Práctica y Didáctica de la Traducción en Filología, on the theory, practice and didactics of translation in philology, and since March 2017 she has been part of the research group HUM-996: Interglosia.
Her main research interests include theory of translation, translation of children and young-adult literature and training of translators.
