Dr. Alicia M. L\u00f3pez M\u00e1rquez received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Seville (US) and her PhD degree from Pablo de Olavide University (UPO), both in Italian Philology. She works as a lecturer of Italian Language and Culture and Translation. She focuses her research work on areas with national and international scope: problems of literary translation, lexicographical aspects, and teaching of Italian in contrast to teaching of Spanish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Her most highlighted publications are those aimed at revaluing Hernando de Hozes’s 1554 Spanish translation of Petrarch’s Triumphi<\/em>. In this area, we can find her monograph published by Comares publishing and her article on the Renaissance philosophy in Hozes’s translation published in the journal of Translation studies TRANS, <\/em>both from 2013. Other noteworthy works are those published in the journals Estudio de traducci\u00f3n<\/em> and the North American e-Hhumanitas.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, she is working on a research on the 19th<\/sup> century Italian translations of Lorca\u2019s theatre. In 2019, she published with Comares a study on the translation of Andalusian expressions in Bodini’s Italian version from last century. At the moment, she is studying and analyzing Bodini’s translation of Lorca’s puppet play El retablillo de Don Crist\u00f3bal<\/em>. Likewise, as a member of the research project BIMAP, about bilingualism and learning of academic Spanish, she wrote an article on the grammatical metaphor in the writing of university students of Spanish, which will soon be published by the German publisher Peter Lang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
