The project is led by Professor Rosa Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez-Izquierdo from the Department of Education and Social Psychology of the Pablo de Olavide University. In total there are 15 researchers, from seven European countries &#8211; Italy, Portugal, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain &#8211; who gathered today in a meeting that will serve to lay the foundations for work and cooperation in the prevention of early school leaving.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to prevent students at risk of social exclusion from leaving school early. It uses improvements in teacher training on intercultural education and inclusion to create social-awareness and inform educational policy.<\/p>\n<p>It is a two-year project, launched last September and has the backing of the Erasmus + Program, with a grant of 150,000 euros. In total, about 250 people will benefit from the results of this project.<\/p>\n<p>Europe has made progress on reducing school drop-out rates but we require consolidating actions at the international level to ensure this work is not lost. Both the design and implementation of the PICESL project aims to aims to provide knowledge, practices and materials that are transferable to other European entities.
