The law on attention and protection to the elderly –issued by the Junta de Andalucía–establishes that Andalusian universities shall promote the organization of training programmes, Further Training courses and other training activities for the elderly, regardless of the academic level required to access to study certain subjects, and not necessarily leading to the issuing of an academic qualification according to the regulations.
The Open Classroom at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide is intended for people older than 50 who wish to increase their knowledge. People younger than this age may apply for these courses as long as they have submitted their application form and there are places available.
The Open Classroom for the Elderly head office is located in the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, but their educational activities are carried out in different municipal facilities for teaching of Seville.
