Did Queen Isabella I of Castile wash herself?

An essay based on the account books. But... what is all this for?

Abstract

The account books of her Chief Waiter, Sancho de Paredes, found in Cáceres, allow us to enter the boudoir of Queen Isabella the Catholic and reveal some of her secrets.

With this, we once again corroborate one of the many lessons that our teacher, Esteban Hernández, left us: the history of accounting shows us life, through the entries recorded in them and, furthermore, it gives us a different, more enriching and satisfactory, vision of past events and current realities.

The article, therefore, is conceived as a tribute in memory of Esteban, coinciding with the third anniversary of his death.
