Jonatán Orozco Cruz
Educated at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville, he developed his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Manuel Herrero Sánchez. His teaching and research career includes work as an interim substitute professor in the Departamento de Geografía, Historia y Filosofía at UPO, as well as an affiliation in 2023 with the Departamento de Economía General at the Universidad de Cádiz (UCA). His scientific activity focuses on the study of transnational trade networks, the Asiento de Negros, and the traffic of enslaved Africans in the late 17th century, in addition to analyzing institutional management and information flows within the Spanish Monarchy during colonial crises, such as the 1687 Lima earthquake.
