Art-Risk (Artificial Intelligence applied to preventive conservation of heritage buildings)
Welcome to the ART-RISK website, where you can find all relevant information about our research team and areas of work.
We are a team dedicated to the conservation and safeguarding of our Cultural Heritage. We aim to respond to this challenge by providing solutions that institutions and individuals who manage heritage sites can use to protect heritage.
Over the course of various research projects, the PAI TEP 199 team from the Andalusian Government has investigated and tested methodologies and tools for accurately assessing risks and managing emergencies that may affect our Cultural Heritage. On this website, you can find information about our team, the research projects we have conducted, and the ART-RISK toolset for improving heritage site management.
The PAI TEP 199 research group (Heritage, Environment, and Technology) is a multidisciplinary team that has been working for over 20 years on developing methodologies and tools for the conservation, protection, and safeguarding of Cultural and Natural Heritage.
Our team includes chemists, biologists, and conservators involved in the research, characterization, and conservation of historical and artistic works, as well as architects, archaeologists, and historians focused on risk analysis and diagnosis in heritage sites.
Our research work has advanced through various projects, collaborating with public and private entities from both national and international levels that specialize in heritage management, such as the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage (IAPH), the Valencian Institute of Conservation, Restoration and Research (IVCR+i), the University of Seville, the University of Valencia, the University of the Arts of Havana, the University of Popayán, and the University of Austral de Chile, among others.
We develop multiple research lines and offer various scientific-technical services that can be consulted on our Research Results Transfer Office website (https://www.upo.es/otri/oferta-cientifico-tecnologica/grupos-de-investigacion/PATRIMONIO-MEDIOAMBIENTE-Y-TECNOLOGIA-TEP-199/).
Our work specializes in risk analysis and conservation status diagnosis of Cultural Heritage (CH), as well as in managing and responding to emergencies that may affect it. This work has been carried out through multiple research projects, doctoral theses, and was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize 2021 for the project ART-RISK: Artificial Intelligence applied to the preventive conservation of heritage buildings.
You will find all relevant information about the group's various research projects, their results, and the ART-RISK methodology and tools developed to offer solutions for managing heritage sites.
