Carlos S. Silva studied Humanities and Translation and Interpreting at Pablo de Olavide University of Seville (UPO). While studying, he participated in different academic activities. He also carried out two international stays in the United Kingdom within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme at the University of Stirling and the Aston University of Birmingham. Between 2021 and 2024, Carlos completed his academic training with a master’s degree in specialised translation (University of Córdoba) and a master’s degree in education (UPO), speciality in Language and Literature.
His research experience started in 2022 when he was granted a scholarship for research initiation at the UPO. Carlos started to collaborate in activities organized by the Interglosia research group and in the Coupling Language Services for Internationalization (Closer-INT) project, where he was later hired as a research support technician. In 2024, he got another research grant, also at the UPO. He continued collaborating in different scientific activities organized by Interglosia and developed autonomous research derived from the Closer-INT project.
Carlos is currently working on a PhD at the UPO under the guidance of Dr. Elisa Calvo. His research interests include the study of the influence of language services on business internationalization processes, the translation, localization, and transcreation of materials for new markets, or the management of collective research processes and the use of specialized tools.
