Reda Hafidi Benbaiz

Reda Hafidi Benbaiz holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Pablo de Olavide University (2021), where he also earned a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training (MAES) (2022). Previously, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the Moulay Ismael University of Meknes in Morocco (1997), a Research Proficiency Certificate in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Seville (2002), and a Master’s Degree in Water Treatment and Analysis from the same university (2006). He is currently completing his doctoral thesis at the University of Poitiers (UPO), researching the legal translation of Spanish constitutional texts into French and Arabic.

He has worked as a translator and interpreter for several years in public services and for private companies, as well as as an intercultural mediator for several NGOs. He is currently an Interim Substitute Professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Pablo de Olavide University, which began in 2022. He also serves as Assistant to the Executive Committee of the Andalusian Industrial Workers’ Commissions (CCOO), carrying out translation and interpretation work.

His main areas of research are legal translation, court interpreting, and intercultural communication.
