Alicia Muñoz Fernández

Alicia Muñoz Fernández graduated in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in 2019, where she also studied the Master’s Degree in Education in 2020. During that same year, she enjoyed a Collaboration Grant from the Ministry of Education in the Department of Philology and Translation at the UPO, getting started in the research of legal and sworn translation. With the intention of continuing along the same academic and professional path, she completed a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Communication, Interpreting and Translation in Public Services at the University of Alcalá in 2021. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis at the UPO, researching the role played by the translator and interpreter in the fight against organized crime and terrorism, studies that she combines with teaching as a teacher of English and French in Secondary and Baccalaureate Education and as a freelance translator and interpreter. Her main lines of research are police translation and interpreting and the training of police and law enforcement translators and interpreters.
