Laura Barrera Garrido graduated in Translation and Interpreting from Pablo de Olavide University in 2022. It was at this university where she completed her Master’s Degree in International Communication, Translation and Interpreting in 2023 and where she is currently pursuing her PhD studies. Her thesis deals with the linguistic impact of the exposure to risk of local interpreters hired by the Spanish Armed Forces in Afghanistan. She also combines her studies with her position as a linguistic assistant at the International Military Training Center of Airbus Defence and Space in Seville. Her fields of research focus on conflict interpreting and intercultural communication.
