What LEDMOF is?
LEDMOF is a laboratory dedicated to the testing and diagnosis of solar cells and sub-modules. It focuses on the development of emerging photovoltaic technologies (abundant materials, nanostructured devices) and devices ranging from small-scale laboratory prototypes to pre-industrial scale sub-modules.
LEDMOF’s facilities allow for the performance testing of photovoltaic devices under different calibrated standard conditions, up to small-scale modules (22 × 22 cm²). Advanced optoelectronic methodologies based on small-perturbation techniques (impedance spectroscopy, intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS), intensity-modulated photovoltage spectroscopy (IMVS)) enable a detailed characterization of various photovoltaic technologies. These characterizations can be correlated with numerical device simulations based on drift-diffusion models, providing a detailed loss analysis and guidance for device optimization.
LEDMOF is designed to support the commercialization of emerging photovoltaic technologies, addressing challenges that arise during scaling-up processes, cell interconnection, or stability/degradation issues.
What services does the Centre provide?
RESEARCH
LEDMOF conducts advanced research on emerging photovoltaic technologies, focusing on performance evaluation, stability analysis, and scalability. Through state-of-the-art optoelectronic characterization, it contributes to the development of efficient and sustainable solar energy solutions.
CONSULTING
LEDMOF provides expert consulting for optimizing photovoltaic devices, addressing challenges in scaling up, cell interconnection, and degradation. Our team offers specialized guidance to researchers, industries, and institutions seeking to enhance solar energy applications.
TRAINING
LEDMOF offers training programs on photovoltaic diagnostics, including hands-on experience with advanced testing techniques. These programs are designed for researchers, students, and industry professionals looking to deepen their knowledge of solar energy technologies.
DIVULGATION
LEDMOF actively promotes the dissemination of knowledge on photovoltaic innovations through seminars, workshops, and public engagement activities. We aim to raise awareness and foster collaboration in the field of sustainable energy
One of the main services we offer is conducting analyses and testing, as well as providing access to state-of-the-art scientific and technological equipment. These services are available to anyone, including members of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Public Research Organizations, or external companies.
The various pieces of equipment are organized into 4 scientific-technical services, each overseen by a Scientific Director, who manages the general aspects of its operation.
