Professor of Basic Psychology at the Pablo de Olavide University. Doctor in Psychology from the University of Seville in 1995. Director of the UPO Department of Social Sciences from 2004 to 2009, Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff of the UPO between December 2009 and June 2012 and Vice-Rector for Academic Planning and Teaching Staff from June 2012 to November 2014. Co-Director of the Chair of Social Economy, Ethics and Citizenship-El Roble since June 2015.

Director of the research team Group of Studies on Culture and Cognition, has 5 six-years-period of positive evaluation of research and knowledge transfer, more than a hundred publications and contributions to national and international conferences on the development of language and communication skills or on the construction of cultural identity in which he has reflected on the challenges of education for the XXI century. Director of 18 doctoral theses in the field of psychological development, communication and social intervention.

He has led as IP 9 competitive national and international projects and contracts, these subsidized by the European Union and in which a dozen European and Latin American universities and institutions have participated.

He has been visiting professor at the University of Utrecht in 1994 and 2007. He has taught PhD at the Free University of Amsterdam (NL), University of Aarhus (DK) and University of Copenhagen (DK) since 2000. He is a member of international scientific societies such as the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research and the International Association for Dialogue Analysis.

He has worked as an evaluator of the H2020 Program (MSCA Actions) and of the AMIF Program (Asylum, Migration, and Integration) of the European Commission, in the ACADEMIA program of the National Quality Agency -ANECA- and for the Evaluation Agency of Castilla y Leon -AECYL-.
