Author Guidelines

The rules for authors when submitting their papers:

1. RES PUBLICA Notebooks in Law and Criminology publishes original research papers in law and criminology.

2. Submission of originals. The originals must be unpublished, and failing that, indicate by footnote citation, the extract or publication from which they derive, always being the contribution to be reproduced, a variation of the same with relevant developments to be published for the interest of the scientific community. Articles will be accepted in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.

3. They will be written and sent in Word or compatible format to the OJS of the journal. They should also be sent, as an attachment, to the following e-mail address: respublica@upo.es

4. Format. Articles must be submitted using the template provided in the following ‘RES PUBLICA template link’. No article will be accepted if it is not included in the template. Most of the journal's style rules are included in the template.

5. The following points are added:

-The length limit is between 6000 and 18000 words for contributions, with the exception of the monograph which will accept between 6000-25000 words and reviews which will not have a minimum number of words, the maximum being 6000.

-Underlining, bold words or phrases within the text should be avoided. Titles of sections/sub-sections in bold and lower case.

-No indentation on the first line.

-Separation between paragraphs before 6 points, after 0 points.

-Italics may be used in text, not underlining or bold (except for headings/subheadings).

6. Notes should be placed at the foot of the page (not at the end of the article), numbered using Arabic characters and in superscript format. No indentation. Italics may be used, not underlining or bold.

7. If the paper is accepted and ready for layout, all authors must include their ORCID, as well as their full name, institution and e-mail address. In case of doubt, you can consult the following guide: guiasbib.upo.es/orcid

8. The system of the UNE-ISO 690:2013 standard will be used in the citations. The guidelines and detailed explanation can be obtained from this link. However, articles will also be accepted using the APA citation system. In this case, when adding parenthetical references within the text, the parentheses must include the author's surname, followed by a space before the year of publication, a colon and a space before the page: (Woolf, 1957: 191-25). If more authors appear: (Woolf, 1957; Gilbert , Gubar, 1985; López, 1991). This information should be placed just after each quotation or at the end of the sentence(s) that paraphrase(s) the reference. The date of publication of the reference should be the date that appears in the publication being handled.

9. A list of references to all works (articles, books, web resources, and book chapters) cited in the article must be included at the end. Do not include any other reference that has not been cited in the text. As for the way to do it, both the author's surname and first name must be cited in full, using the Chicago method.
