On oppression and the Modern Forms of Domination in the State: A Rousseaunesque Perspective on Slavery

The legal and sociological work of Rousseau has meant for many authors a precedent of the problems and the limits that traverse contemporary societies. The question of slavery and the normative critique made by this author allow us to offer a contemporary interpretation of this phenomenon. While an eradicating economic practice, slavery, conceived in a broader sense, offers us with a critical perspective on the present relations of domination in advanced democracies.
