Laboratorio de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales (FCSLAB)

The FCSLab emerges as a physical and functional space within the framework of a face-to-face University such as the UPO. It has resources to promote the learning of the students of our Faculty, through cutting-edge technologies, especially in terms of research and intervention). A fundamental aspect in the design of the space is that we have prioritized comfortable work, also taking care of the aesthetic aspects with care, sure of the importance of the context in the learning experience.   A more detailed account of this is given on our website: https://www.upo.es/facultad-ciencias-sociales/es/fcslab/ .

It is also a virtual space. Before the events of the pandemic precipitated, we had already designed spaces to facilitate online communication, through a design that includes interactive devices (Clever Touch screen), microphones and wireless speakers.  But our concept of virtual space goes beyond that.  We intend to provide our users with multiple online services, therefore, without the need to go to the laboratory. Two very concrete examples. The first one is the detailed information provided on the web, elaborated by our support technicians, of resources for teaching-learning, which includes support tools for online or face-to-face classes that want to use these resources. These are resources for: effective presentations, gamification, document management, or teamwork, among others.  And finally, we also intend to turn FCSLab into an emotional space, making the learning experience an emotionally positive one, convinced that learning is either emotionally positive or it is not (or it is not learning at all).

The FCSLab is a website that reaches a large academic group both in our faculty and throughout the university.
