The University Network for Research and Teaching of Sign Languages

The University Network for Research and Teaching of Sign Languages is a scientific theme network aimed at researching, increasing knowledge and taking action for the promotion of the Sign Languages in Spain. It also pursues the improvement of accesibility in communication, information and new technologies, with special attention to the needs of groups that due to hearing loss may be excluded.

The network is defined by its content (Sign Languages) and by its interdisciplinarity. Fields such as Psychology, Engineering, Linguistics, Translation, Law or Education, among others, are present. The network was developed specifically to respond to the need of this multidisciplinary focus to succesfully promote research in this topic.
