Abstract

This article offers a critical reading of contemporary imaginaries surrounding borders, religions, and identities in the context of the third millennium. It explores the paradoxes that emerge between openness and closure, universalism and particularism, and examines how these imaginaries shape new forms of belonging, exclusion, and spirituality. In response to current global challenges, the article incorporates reflections on cultural diversity as a civilizational value and on the culture of sustainability as an ethical and symbolic axis that redefines the relationship between humanity, territory, and nature. It argues that only through the integration of these new imaginaries can real and symbolic borders be reconfigured toward a more plural, just, and livable horizon.
