The essential task of care in a society marked by ageing and a low birth rate has traditionally been attributed to women, perpetuating an obsolete gender role that prevents them from developing decent living and working conditions. In this regard, a brief overview is given of the different research projects that seek to achieve real and effective equality in this sector and to contribute to its dignity.
