El proceso europeo de integración económica y sus efectos sobre la estructura productiva: eficiencia económica versus cohesión económica y social. El caso de España

Abstract

This communication systematizes the main effects of the European process of economic integration on the Spanish productive sector. It also raises the difficulty to combine the objectives of economic and social cohesion and optimisation of the productive structure to maximize the economic efficiency. And, finally, it argues that an European Union with a high degree of economic and social cohesion requires, necessarily, the definition of an European active industrial policy and an European redistributive policy.
