Modelos de transporte y emisiones de CO2 en España
Keywords:

The transport sector is the largest emitter of greenhouse gas in Spain, even if only the emissions generated by vehicles traction are included in this sector. If the emissions generated by the construction and maintenance of vehicles and infrastructures are also included, then transport sector emissions increase substantially. This paper undertakes estimations of CO2 emissions in Spain by transport modes and of their recent evolution. Some considerations on possible strategies of public intervention in this sector are made. These could cut back emissions to some extent, and so reduce the difficulties faced by Spain to fulfill the commitments derived from the Kyoto Protocol.
