Laboratory for Testing and Diagnostics of Photovoltaic Cells and Sub-modules

(Laboratorio de ensayo y diagnóstico de sub-módulos fotovoltaicos)

LEDMOF LOGO

LEDMOF

The main purpose of the LEDMOF laboratory is to provide services and infrastructure for the advanced processing, testing and characterization of photovoltaic devices, from small laboratory cells to pre-industrially scaled submodules.

This way, it aims at closing the gap from laboratory to industry, helping to up-scale solar cells from lab to fab, providing crucial insight into typical up-scaling problems such as efficiency losses, inhomogeneities, performance variations and degradation issues under varying operating conditions.

LEDMOF 1

LED-based solar simulator from WAVELABS: Testing of photovoltaic devices up to 25 x 25 cm2 size under calibrated standard conditions (AM1.5) as well as various non-standard conditions (spectral, intensity, temperature variations).

LEDMOF 2

Advanced opto-electronic characterization setup enables the profound fundamental characterization of series of opto-electronic devices using small pertubation techniques (Impedance, IMVS, IMPS, DLTS, …) (PAIOS from FLUXIM).

LEDMOF 3.2 LEDMOF 3.1

A multi-deposition tool from KORVUS, capable of depositing different contact and charge extraction layers via sputtering, thermal evaporation or spin-coating, all of these in vacuum or inert gas atmosphere (N2-filled glovebox and vacuum chamber).

LEDMOF 4

Climate chamber for the controlled exposure to defined humidity and temperatura conditions allowing a detailed degradation analysis of devices.

INMALAB LOGO

INMALAB

The Integrated Materials Characterization Laboratory (INMALAB) of the Pablo de Olavide University was created to offer an integrated service for the assessment and scientific analysis of materials of energetic, environmental, biotechnological, geological and historical-artistic heritage protection interest, among others.

It includes the following materials characterization equipment:

SEM

High resolution electron microscopy system (SEM).

XRD

X-ray diffraction (XRD) system for crystallographic analysis of solid samples.

XRF

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) system for elemental analysis of solid and liquid samples.

Fluorescence

Time-resolved ultraviolet/visible fluorescence system (TRF) for characterization of solid and liquid samples.

- Gas adsorption equipment.

- Thermal analysis equipment (TGA).
