Abstract

The text analyses the revolutionary period from the point of view of economic history. On one side, it reintroduces economic disputes as factors to be considered in the understanding of some aspects of the revolutionary process itself and, on the other side, it analyses the effects of such process on the regional economies. Thus, the text highlights the strong differences between the littoral regions and the interior ones, which suffer greatly from the crisis of the internal market.
