The work Coentos de Yerusaláyim is characterised by its
uniqueness. Printed by Daid Beħar Yeħudá in
Jerusalem in 1923, it shows an aljamiado Judeo-Spanish
text in vocalised square script. It is accompanied by the
same content in Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic, which makes
it a practically inaccessible work, very fragmented in
terms of its research, and above all, limited by the
particularities of its languages. Additionally, it bears a
pedagogical character aimed at learning Hebrew within
the context of the Zionist strategy from the mid to late
19th century. The objective of this analysis, therefore, is
to provide an approach to this work through three
perspectives: a description of the body of the work, a
transcription of the first of its texts to offer a general
overview of the linguistic features exhibited in its
Sephardic version, and an examination of the technical
aspects of the work to facilitate the successful teaching of
the languages it proposes, supported by textual
examples.
