Call for papers “Microcredential and short learning programme in Higher Education”


Microcredential and short learning programmes (SLPs) represent a new format for the delivery of education. They provide an answer to the needs of learners in continuous education (CE) and continuous professional development (CPD). These learners, to remain competitive and updated in a constantly changing labour market, need to up-scale and re-scale their competencies, yet they find the majority of higher educational institutions (HEIs) offering very time consuming courses and programmes. Like never before, HEIs are in need of changing their didactical offering, proposing to their audience more condense, shorter, programmes without compromising on their quality. In this light, researchers are invited to submit contributions that focus on microcredentials and/or SLPs, defining their innovative aspects and challenges (i.e. design, recognition). Literature review, empirical, conceptual and policy papers are welcome.
