This second issue of the monograph ‘Sex-gender diversity and queer pedagogies: towards a counter-hegemonic education’ presents us with different articles that challenge us to transform education from the perspective of queer pedagogy. Given that Queer theory and fundamental Queer pedagogical practices have as their main objective to deconstruct established generalised patterns, to disarticulate the universalisation of endocisheterosexuality and binarism, as well as to unveil the racist logics of institutions and to approach the body and the relationship with it from a positive perspective. The monograph shows how queer pedagogy problematises the very purpose of education by questioning how institutionalised educational practices influence or determine the empowerment of subaltern populations and their subordination. This pedagogical approach proposes the most outstanding and valuable contributions of postmodern critiques of the school.
