Resumen

El deporte ha sido identificado como una herramienta clave para el desarrollo de habilidades blandas esenciales para la vida y el ámbito laboral. Este estudio analiza la percepción de deportistas sobre la adquisición y transferencia de estas habilidades a través de la práctica deportiva. Se empleó el cuestionario Life Effectiveness Questionnaire (LEQ) adaptado al ámbito deportivo para evaluar dimensiones como gestión del tiempo, competencia social, motivación al logro, liderazgo de tarea, control emocional, iniciativa activa, flexibilidad intelectual y autoconfianza. Los resultados muestran que la participación en el deporte competitivo predice puntuaciones más altas en estas habilidades, mientras que el deporte recreativo y de salud presentan valores inferiores. Además, el tiempo de dedicación semanal a la práctica deportiva es el factor más relevante en la adquisición de estas competencias, lo que refuerza el concepto de ocio serio deportivo como motor de desarrollo personal y profesional. Finalmente, se observan diferencias culturales en la motivación al logro, con puntuaciones más bajas entre participantes españoles en comparación con otras nacionalidades. Este estudio sugiere la necesidad de integrar el deporte en estrategias de empleabilidad para mejorar la inserción laboral y el desarrollo de habilidades transferibles.
