The reviewed work is a compendium of scientific contributions, both theoretical and empirical, that deal with policies and practices related to diversity attention of people who are sexually dissident from the heteronormative model. It therefore aspires to be a reference for social contribution from science to the sexual and gender diversity inclusion in the educational field.
The set of studies presented allows us to observe that, despite the long road travelled since the emergence of the first protest movements of the last century, attention to sexual and gender diversity continues to be a pending subject in many areas, including education, and its full incorporation into the dynamics and mentality of educational centres has not ceased to be a challenge that is difficult to achieve. Thus, even today it continues to be imperative to give visibility to this socio‐educational reality in order to raise awareness, mitigate and ‐ in the best of cases ‐ prevent the negative effects of ignorance, negligence, lack of sensitivity and understanding of the various educational stakeholders.
