a multiple transgression.

«Streaking» in sport is hard to be ignored. Its protagonists burst into stadiums and arenas naked, half-naked or in disguise and cause an unexpected interruption of competitions by their transgressions. Sociology has so far offered few answers to the question of how and why these practices occur, leaving their interpretation in the hands of psychiatrists, journalists, security officials and lawyers. In this essay, Karl-Heinrich Bette and Felix Kühnle analyse the multiple transgressions of the streakers from a factual, spatial, temporal and social point of view, thus exposing the pull effects elite sport exerts on these troublemakers. In the concluison, the authors examine to what extent streakers in sport can also be understood as tricksters from an analytical perspective. Analogies can be drawn since in ethnology and cultural anthropology tricksters are regarded as social figures who transgress boundaries, undergo a transformation and flip customs upside down by breaking taboos.
