Syria's strategic geographical location has rendered it a primary target for numerous ancient and modern empires, as well as for global dominant powers seeking to assert their authority. This has led to a series of significant confrontations throughout its history. This dynamic persists in the contemporary context, wherein both established and emerging powers, notably Israel, have been engaged in endeavours to divide Syria. The execution of this strategy would not only undermine Syria's territorial integrity but also raise concerns about Turkey's national stability. This article will emphasise this strategy and the ongoing Cold War-like tensions between Tel Aviv and Ankara, which have the potential to escalate at any moment.
